Andrew Butterfield

Head coach at Stride & Strength

In 2009, Andrew faced a life-altering challenge when he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. After undergoing multiple surgeries and spending months in and out of the hospital, he reached his lowest point both mentally and physically, weighing just 57 kg at 6'3". Determined to take control of his health, he started lifting weights to rebuild strength and muscle. This journey sparked a passion for fitness, and in 2011, he became a certified personal trainer, eager to help others overcome their own unique challenges.

As he gained strength, Andrew realised that his training needed balance, so he began incorporating running for the cardiovascular benefits. Over time, he worked his way up to marathons and ultra-marathons, and the combination of strength training and endurance running has given him a new level of physical and mental resilience.

His personal experiences with health challenges and his journey through fitness have made him uniquely equipped to guide others in achieving their own goals. Whether someone is looking to improve their health, lose weight, build muscle, or prepare for endurance events, Andrew brings a combination of empathy, understanding, and a no-nonsense approach to help them reach their full potential.

At Stride & Strength, Andrew is committed to supporting others every step of the way to help them become the best version of themselves.
